A Good Read

I've read and listened to many different books since the New Year, but I'd have to say that the best book of 2011, so far, is Shadowfever by Karen Marie Moning. If you haven't read this series you need to go to your closest book store and buy the first book in this series, Darkfever. Shadowfever wraps up MacKayla Lane's story really well, while leaving with the impression that there will be more. The story is full of twists and turn and the ending will floor you. Mrs. Moning is a great author that draws you into her world of Fae and magic, and has you wondering if these events aren't real and not just a story. This book was a great way to wrap up the series. I give it five stars.

A little summary of the Fever series:

MacKayla Lane, Mac, is a happy twenty-two year old that is living in her own life when she gets shattering new that her sister, Alina, has been murdered in Dublin, Ireland. She travels from Ashford, Georgia to light a fire under the detectives on her sister's case. What she finds is a world that she doesn't know existed. She finds that she is a sidhe-seer that can Fae without there protective cover. Throughout her journey of finding out who killed her sister, she realizes that this is much bigger than just a murder. She is recruited by a book store owner named Jericho Barrons when he realizes that she can detect things Fae. They go on a hunt for a magical book that has spells from the dark Fae King that has taken a life of its own. Through this, Mac meets a Seelie Prince, or a light Fae, Vlaine, and meets fellow sidhe-seers. With Barrons, she meets more dark creatures than she can fathom. She has many run ins with death and even gets raped by Dark Fae princes, which turns into a sex craved being. All in all she comes through it with her mysterious friend/foe Barrons. In Shadowfever, she realizes that shes doesn't just have a small roll in finding the book. She has to bring the sidhe-seers, light Fae, and Barrons and his men together to lock away the book and save the world.

  1. I agree! The Fever series gave me the fever for the flavor of The Fey! LOL! I thoroughly enjoyed the series from beginning to end! It was such an amazing ride that I didn't want to get off! I hope a new series is on the way! Now I want to read some snippets of some books YOU'RE working on! :)
